Grading System

The basic skills are the tools of learning.  Reading and mathematics are the core subjects, however other skills are important.  Vocabulary, spelling, using language, getting information from maps and charts, using a dictionary, are also important.

Not only are these skills important at school, but at work and play as well.  We use them in almost everything we do – reading the newspaper, writing letters, buying things, and in doing our life’s work.

You will receive a checklist of skills appropriate for the instructional level for each advisory.

Our numerical grade equivalent is as follows:

100   -    93        A        or               Excellent

92     -    85        B        or       VG      Above Average/Very Good Progress

84     -    78        C        or              Average/Good Progress

77     -    70        D        or               Below Average/Improvement Needed

69     -                                         Unsatisfactory
